Cheryl Kain’s debut CD Code Name Grazey, released on Boston-based SoundStone Records, has enjoyed airplay on over 60 college and alternative radio stations in the U.S. and Canada. Ani DiFranco’s radio promoter, Joe Sweeney says, “Cheryl Kain is a huge hit with the college audiences”. Cheryl was also invited to sing the national anthem at Fenway Park in Boston and Dodger Stadium.

Originally from upstate New York, Cheryl grew up singing alongside her jazz drummer father, playing the resort circuit in the Catskills. After attending Eastman School of Music and the Crane School, Cheryl performed regularly for years at the renowned Village Gate in New York City.

A featured singer in Los Angeles at The Roxy, Genghis Cohen, McCabe’s, The Mint, and Highland Grounds, she was a back-up singer for Angelique, of the TV series Fame. Cheryl sang a number of times under musical director Don Was in benefit performances for a sold-out house at The Roxy in L.A. At present she is working on a Latin Jazz project featuring international Grammy winner Paquito D’Rivera’s band.

Cheryl fronts her Cape Cod based jazz trio and released her CD Bloom, a compilation of original and obscure jazz standards in March 2006. Cheryl will be featured at the 2nd Annual Provincetown Jazz Festival this summer 2006, and she has performed at The Black Cat, Chatham First Night, The Mews in Provincetown, and at benefits for the Cape Cod Cultural Center in Yarmouth, as well as numerous private parties, weddings and benefits on the Cape.
